What Having Supportive Parents Looks Like

I have chosen a career that some might discourage due to "odds of being successful." Most of the time, the discouragement comes from people outside the business, and I just remind myself; opinions contain no validity. We all have our life calling and mine just so happens to be within the wide world of entertainment: I act.
I have always been a performer. From "playing" the acoustic guitar for my family in the living room at 9 years old to being in my first movie, I have had such a confirmation that I was made for this. My family has always encouraged this confirmation and has never once doubted me. That within itself makes the journey less of a struggle. To have these people behind me, pushing me towards my goal.

The endless support from my parents have poured out over the years has included them flying to LA for me to follow my dreams, even though my mom isn't a fan of flying. Countless drives to different states for me to record songs, film music videos and movies, which led to a "CAN do" attitude for me. I know that often, parents encourage their kids to have a backup plan. Mine have done so but with the supportive position they have always held when it comes to me and my goals. They have poured out their belief that I can truly do anything, through faith and hard work.

I have never been told I'm not good enough. I have never been forcefully swayed one way or another. I have always heard that I am capable. I have always heard that nothing is impossible. I make an effort to have the same uplifting and encouraging attitude towards everyone I meet. These things are important.
